The Mystic Forest

The Mystic Forest is an ancient wood filled with magic and, of course, trees. Some trees are hundreds or thousands of years old, while some trees are much younger. There's a whole slew of myths surrounding the forest, though none of them have been proven. Like the Giant Grasshopper that lives in the forest, eating trees and passersby at random. Yeah, right.

A dusty pathway leads through the woods to the mountain pass on the other side. On foot the journey takes about a day. On horse, half that time. There are also varying reports from people who have wandered off of the path that a Lake has been found, in which a beautiful maiden swims. Of course, many have tried to find this lake and then woo the woman. Some died in the attempt, others returned traumatized, and still others returned alone, rebuffed by the woman. The body of water has since come to be called Lonely Maiden Lake.

Day or night, the Mystic Forest is holder of many secrets and many dangers. With these dangers and secrets are treasures and portals to new, wonderful worlds. Over all though, the Mystic Forest is a rather peaceful place that offers adventurers a place to train and veteran monster hunters a place to stretch out and relax.

*freezes a small section and puts up a sign that says "please don't disturb zukas area"* call this spot!!!

*folds arms over my chest* actually Zuka, the lake and a vast majority of the surrounding woods is mine

yea well what doesn't belong to you now belongs to zuka *lays down on the frozen ground and smiles*

*raises a brow* Zuka, you're element is ice. why would you select here instead of a possible mountian or arctic plain?

*grins big* i like to be different hehe

heh *holds out a hand, summoning a small ball of blue and white flame in my hands* well unfortunately for you, i won't take the chance of ice and snow damaging my forest so i suggest you find somehere more suited to your element

*sticks tongue out at tia* well unfortunatly for tia zukas ice and snow is more powerful then she thinks *lays back down* besides...i won't let it ruin your forest....*smiles again*

*sighs* these woods can't handle the cold you're used to zuka. You may stay here but only till you have found a place of your own to protect and guard. When that happens, then i want all the snow and ice you've summoned gone

*a small but wild snow blizzards starts up where i was standing then dies down leaving all the forest intact and me myserioutly gone* cya tia haha *echos where i was standing*

*shakes any remaining snow off and looks around* good luck, Zuka

Sighing, Tiamatt brushes off the last of the snow before it melt before turning and walking quietly back towards the lake at the center of the forest. She walk to a small ledge that overlooks the lake and sits down, leaning back on her hands and she looks down at the lake. Tiamatt closes her eyes, tuning her ears to pick up the sounds of her environment. The wind blowing through the trees, the water quietly lapping as the lake's shore, and the sounds of the animals that called the Mystic Forest home were enough to bring a small peaceful smile to Tiamatt's lips before she laid down on her back, hands behind her head, simply listening to the land she watched over.

*walking quietly through the forest, her footfalls like that of a ghost, she leads a black mare along the path, turning her head from side to side to glance at the trees*
so quiet...so peaceful...
*catching a glimpse of the sun's rays off the surface of a body of water between the trees, she alters her corse to make this her new destination, the black mare following obediantly, ears pricked forward and dainty hooves stepping lively*

"Hm?" Tiamatt sat up and glanced back at the forest behind her, leaning back on her hands. "Intruders?" Getting to her feet, she spread large crimson scaled wings and took to the air, flying quietly above the treetops. Her eyes dilated to slit, sharpening her vision as she scanned through the thick foilage of the forest, looking for the source of the stange but quiet noises she had heard.

*she froze quite suddenly when she saw a shape by the water move, and tightened her grip on her horse's reins*
easy girl...*she cooed*
*squinting upward against the sun's ray's she strained to make out what the shape above her was, as the nervous mare danced in place and snorted*

"Hm?" Tiamatt squinted her eyes a little, focusing on a couple figures down below as more sounds reached her ears. "interesting.." Tiamatt whispered quietly to herself as she landed on one of the upper branches of a nearby tree, using the leaves as coverage. "Who goes there?"

*stiffening at the voice, she spread her wings and bared her fangs in its direction, the mare giving a sharp tug on the lead*
i-*she cut off her sentence as she saw the dragon before her, perched almost daintily in the tree*
im a hunter...*she finished hesitantly*
though dragons hold no value for me...i see the animals of which i can make a profit off of...and right now, it is the white stag that has captured my interest...
*she yanked the lead hard, startling the mare into submission*

Tiamatt's eyes narrowed slightly as she examined the newcomer. "A hunter? If that is true then i'm going to have to ask you to leave." She dropped down to the ground and stood straight, shifting to a completly human form. "This forest and its inhabitants, weither humaniod or animal, are under my protection"

*raising a brow, she quickly swung onto the back of her black mare, who skitted to the side, wary of the dragon just turned human*
i shall leave when i have caught the white stag, and not before
*spurring her horse forward, fyre galloped the mare off to the right to attempt to avoid an un-needed fight*

Tiamatt watched Fyre for a moment before jumping into the air, shifting back to her dragon form. With a strong sweep of her wings, she was back above the tree tops, hovering as she kept a close eye on the strange girl while also glancing around for any other abnomalities in her forest.

*riding quickly, she manuvered her steed between trees skillfully, and withdrew her crossbow from behind her saddle*
should be here somewhere...*she mulled*
*catching a glimpse of hoofprints, she followed the deer's trail, hoping that she might finally have stumbled upon the track of the white stag*

Tiamatt glances back towards the strange rider and growled at the site of the weapon in her hand. "I guess some people can't follow request very well..." She looked around the forest for another moment before hovering near what seemed to be almost the exact center of the forest. "sorry for this stranger..." Inhaling deeply, Tiamatt reared back her head and unleashed a loud roar, sending clouds of birds into the air and any animal in the open into hiding.

*the black mare reared up suddenly, nearly throwing fyre. the demon quickly opened her wings as a reflex to maintain her balance as her hands clawed at the reins*
steady! steady! *she snapped, as birds rushed by and squirrels and raccons darted around the mare's legs*
goddam! *she swore, as the white buck darted from its hiding place and into the shadows of the forest*
hyah! *she jerked the reins to the right and gave chase, the mare twisting and fighting her commands*

*whittling quietly on a tree branch up above, he raises his head from hearing wings flap above him*
..hmm? Such loud flapping for such small birds in this are-
*halts his words from the sight of a large dragon flying over head, he quickly sits up, watching it's flight*
..a ...dragon? *not a moment later, the forest booms with a roar,
casing the animals within and around the trees to scurry away with fright,
causing this man to fall off his branch from the surprise of it all;
fallling with a "thud" to the ground, for his unfinished mask to fall right by him*
